Director: Kenneth Branagh
Writers: Kenneth Branagh
Starring: Jude Hill, Lewis McAskie, Caitriona Balfe
Genres: Biography, Drama, History

Written and directed by Kenneth Branagh, and loosely based on his own experience, the film tells the story of 9 year old Buddy, growing up in Belfast in the late 1960s. As violence develops between Protestants and Catholics, it has a frightening effect on Buddy as he and his family try to come to terms with the Troubles. Featuring  Judy Dench, Ciaran Hinds, Jamie Dornan, Caitriona Balfe and outstanding newcomer Jude Hill, the film has been nominated for numerous awards, winning the BAFTA for Outstanding British film and the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.

“A bewitchingly intimate, warm-hearted, wholly captivating film, firmly rooted in a particular time and place, yet in a way telling a generic tale, that of refugees through the ages. I loved every minute of it.” (Daily Mail)
