The £2.3m programme of refurbishment and improvements at Morpeth Railway Station was completed in February 2020 and not only ensures its long-term future as a modern travel hub, but creates new business hubs and a social meeting place for people to get together.
Up to 7 small businesses are accommodated in what were formerly vacant offices in the main station building that dates back to 1846, as of January 2026 we have 2 Units available (Units 2 and 6 free). GMDT has their office in UNIT 5 – but are open to move to another room if you would think that room is the size you prefer. The Units all have a Car parking space allocated for you at the front of the station.
We would recommend you come and have a look at the Units – heating is served via an external Heat source pump system, location is ideal for travelling around the country with trains regularly stopping at Morpeth Train Station.
The new cafe provides a great meeting point for travellers and residents around the station to meet / chat and have a coffee – watching the trains go by. We have also landscaped the front of the station, with 2 new benches to sit outside in warmer days – we are looking to get a new picnic table placed in the area in 2026.
